Kyle Rittenhouse moved to find safer home, Elijah McClain killed near home
How many more examples of racism in the criminal justice system do you need?
For two months, murderer Kyle Rittenhouse has not provided his location. Why? He’s been allegedly receiving death threats. Yes, the same guy who killed 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum and 26-year-old Anthony Huber, along with injuring 26-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz, is worried about death threats. This is after he voluntarily traveled with an AR-15 to Kenosha, Wisconsin, when he was supposed to “help clean graffiti from school” on Aug. 25 of last year. And without a shred of decency, he shot to kill — not threaten.
After being charged with two counts of homicide, unlawful possession of a firearm and three other charges, he was released the next day from Kenosha County Jail after his attorney posted the $2 million bail. Although the conditions of his bond require that he update the address listed on court documents, he has gone on to hide out in an undisclosed safe house. His attorneys will not release his new address because the prosecuting attorneys refuse to not make it available for public record.
“Wisconsin has a proud history of open records and government transparency, and I am reluctant to make an exception to the normal practices,” Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger wrote on Nov. 30, reports CNN. “Unless you can provide me with a specific, tangible and imminent threat (or threats) that would justify secrecy in this case, I am not willing to agree to redact your client’s address from the public record.”
And now a judge will hold a hearing next week about whether to arrest or increase bail for the 18-year-old Illinois resident.

While I’ve been quietly monitoring the details of this address update, all I keep thinking is, “I wish Elijah McClain could’ve made it to a ‘safe house’ too, preferably his own.” This 23-year-old black man was slammed against the wall, tackled to the ground, tortured while in full restraint and left vomiting on the ground — all while the police who did it threatened to get their dog to bite him if McClain kept “messing around.”
Their definition of “messing around” was this 140-pound young man pleading with them (from the ground) to stop beating him. According to Veg News, he said: “I can’t breathe. I have my ID right here. My name is Elijah McClain. That’s my house. I was just going home. I’m an introvert. I’m just different, that’s all. I’m so sorry. I have no gun. I don’t do that stuff. I don’t do any fighting. Why are you attacking me? I don’t even kill flies. I don’t eat meat. I’m a vegetarian. But I don’t judge people. And I respect all life. Forgive me. All I was trying to do was become better. I will do it. I will do anything. Sacrifice my identity. I’ll do it. You all are phenomenal. You are beautiful. And I love you. Try to forgive me … I just can’t breathe correctly.”
