I’m tempted to delete this post. No, it’s not because I regret sharing real-life experiences that happened to me nor is it because I believe, “As long as you’re in the 92% — or the larger 75,019,268 Harris voters, what difference should the rest make?” I’m tempted to delete my last post because I significantly underestimated a crowd that is hell bent on believing in eugenics when it comes to co-President Elon Musk. And this die-hard crowd disturbingly still believes that Donald Trump is smart. In both cases, it appears to be a painfully ignorant result of believing anybody white with money must be smart and everybody without loads of it is dumb. (The irony of someone who has very little money saying this while trying to sound smart is not lost on me.)

I started rethinking the last post after two things happened: 1) I listened to CNN’s “One Thing” episode on Brantley County, Georgia; 2) After ignoring his podcast for several months, because of a Bluesky status update, I set myself up for failure by listening to 120 seconds of Math Hoffa’s podcast interview with Mysonne.

However, after thinking about this thoroughly, I want to continue promoting cool products from small businesses, women-owned businesses and (specifically) Black-owned businesses who still feature their items on Amazon. As of the first date of Black History Month 2025, each new post will ALWAYS include a MINIMUM of one product sold by a Black-owned business. (I have visited the seller’s official site to verify that Amazon Black-owned logo.) I am (slowly) doing this with older, popular posts too. If you still choose to boycott, I 100% respect that decision.

(Side note: Hearing conservatives writing Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett off as a “DEI hire” for having two Haitian adopted children was a wild statement too. How someone is brushed aside as a “DEI hire” after working for the law firm that put former George W. Bush back in the White House in 2000, who became a professor of law at Notre Dame and was well-versed in constitutional law is beyond me, but this line of thinking is on brand for the anti-DEI MAGA crowd. I didn’t want her to be a judge nor do our politics align, but questioning her credentials is a step too far for me.)

In both interviews with CNN and Math Hoffa, I listened to a Black man and a white man significantly downplay the intelligence of anybody Black (unless it’s a white guy from South Africa) and somehow decide that two rich, white men must be right, no matter how wrong they are.

And while I’ve spoken at length about who did and didn’t vote for former Vice President Kamala Harris and why people need to educate their family members and friends more, I honestly don’t know what could possibly be done to change the minds of people who are about as thought-provoking as dead beetles.

In the second interview, Mysonne pointed out that Trump hired Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr. to be the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in 2020 — even though Carson is smarter than Trump’s entire cabinet then and now. Imagine being the neurosurgeon who performed the first successful separation of conjoined twins, who were attached at the back of the head. But instead of Trump making Carson the Health and Human Services Secretary, he basically shrugged him off as “you’re Black, so do the Black stuff.”

Math Hoffa’s response to Mysonne’s observation was to exclaim how “you can’t even give a n—ga a job” and storming out of his own barbershop interview.

And if that wasn’t simple-minded enough, here comes the CNN interviewees.
